SILT, not only discharges its corporate responsibilities with principles, values and professional ethics, but also understands its position in the society and is making best efforts to do something more than the business for the society and the country. SILT takes pride to mention some of the endeavors it has accomplished, which manifest its noble deed towards the welfare of society and the people.

Collection of Household Waste
in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Taking into account of the seriousness of environmental issues and health hazard to people living in the urban areas of the country, SILT and its subsidiaries such as SILT-Environmental Services, Nepal (SILTES) carried out solid waste management services in selected areas of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and in total areas of Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan City. SILT is a 'pioneer' company for undertaking integrated solid waste management under the philosophy of public-private partnership (PPP) with Biratnagar Sub-etropolitan city (1998-2007).
SILT has made financial investment of more than US$ 250,000 only for undertaking the responsibility in Biratnagar. SILT realizes very well that such investments do not yield return as expected in other business undertaking. Rather, SILT simply aims to institutionalize these services by mobilizing the urban dwellers and raising awareness for their crucial role in solid waste management activities in the long run.

SILT is one of the partnering firms in 'Zero Waste - Nepal' which is carrying out research andstudies in appropriate municipal waste management through the three 'R' principle of Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.
SILT has been providing its technical and managerial supports in community oriented prorgrammes in disaster management and to facilitate access of rural people to places of social services and market for economic growth and enhancement of quality of life.
