SILT is a 'pioneer' company for undertaking integrated solid waste management under the philosophy of public-private partnership (PPP) with Biratnagar Sub-etropolitan city.

SILT has made financial investment of more than US$ 250,000 only for undertaking the responsibility in Biratnagar. SILT realizes very well that such investments do not yield return as expected in other business undertaking. Rather, SILT simply aims to institutionalize these services by mobilizing the urban dwellers and raising awareness for their crucial role in solid waste management activities in the long run.
SILT is one of the partnerning firms in 'Zero Waste - Nepal' which is carrying out research and studies in appropriate municipal waste management through the three 'R' principle of Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.
